Almost 300 firefighters from South Africa are on their way to Fort McMurray, Alta., Canada to help fight wildfires and boost relief efforts.
The crew began the almost 16,000-kilometre journey from Johannesburg on Sunday morning, stopping to refuel in Barbados. The crew on board flight AC7007 is expected to land at Edmonton International Airport at around 9:30 p.m. MT.

Dr Usoro can be described as the Nigerian pioneer of a procedure essentially over-turning 100’s of years of the belief that transfusions were crucial in Trauma Surgery. This had already been established in Europe and published in Medical Journals dating back to the 80’s. He however was responsible for introducing this to Nigeria, at the University of Calabar.
