KAUSHITAKI-UPANISHAD.
THIRD ADHYAYA.

The Breath of Life

And the Breath of Life (the living and breathing power) said thus unto to the living man and woman:

“I am the Breath of Life, the living and breathing power in man and woman. I wake you up from sleep every morning so we can live, I put you back to bed each night to recuperate.

Meditate on me as the conscious self, your own supreme self; Know ye that I am life, that I am your immortality.

Life is the Breath, the Breath is life. Immortality is the Breath, the Breath is immortality.

As long as the Breath dwells in this body, so long surely there is life. By the same Breath he obtains immortality in the other worlds and dimensions.

He who meditates on the Breath of Life, the living and breathing power in all beings, as life and immortality, gains his full life in this world, and obtains immortality and indestructibility in the next and beyond.”
