Europeans get drunk ‘to have sex’

Young adults in Europe deliberately binge on drink and drugs to improve their sex lives, research suggests.

The UK has one of the worst reputations for binge drinking and underage sex but there are striking similarities between countries, a study found.

A third of 16 to 35-year-old men and 23% of women questioned said they drank to increase their chance of sex.

The study - of 1,341 young people in nine countries including the UK - is published in BMC Public Health.

Riding Kenya’s aborted revolution

Written by Owei Lakemfa

Friday, 09 May 2008

A new Kenyan government is now in place. In spite of its unwieldy composition of 42 ministers and numerous assistant ministers, it is a welcome relief.

It had taken an inconclusive general election, 1,500 lives and 300,000 internally displaced people to get to this shaky stage.

Kenya had erupted like a latent volcano with the lava of anger and hate sprouting into the air and flowing freely in the streets.

Kushites of Sumer and Akkad

By

Clyde Winters Ph.D

Controversy surrounding the Kushite/African/Black origins of the Elamites, Sumerians, Akkadians and “Assyrians” is simple and yet complicated. It involves both the racism exhibited toward the African slaves in the Western Hemisphere and Africans generally which led to the idea that Africans had no history ; and the need of Julius Oppert to make Semites white, to accommodate the “white” ancestry of European Jews.

Alicia Keys raps “Gun-sta” Rap - by The Lion!

Alicia Keys reportedly claimed that ‘gangsta rap’ was created and nutured by the Elites powers which control the music and entertainment industry to destroy the black community.

She’s quoted as telling Blender magazine recently: “‘Gangsta rap’ was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. ‘Gangsta rap’ didn’t exist.”

She is probably right! Rap and hip-hop began as off shoot of Black cultural empowerment movements that emphasized self respect, self determination, and self empowerment. Its link with Rastafarian’s reagge music is well known. Reggea originally was a musical genre associated with Pan-Africanist Rastafarians. It remains an inspiration to all lovers of freedom and truth the world over.
