All
the "Doors of Paradise" are in Lagos, Nigeria. Most were specially commissioned
by patrons for their palatial homes. Wistfully referring to these homes
as paradise, Amoda seeks to describe both the opulence and grandeur
of these mansions and the stratospheric economic range of their costs.
Most Nigerians can only dream of owning such homes; indeed, can only
enter them in their dreams.
