The founder of AfricaResource is invited to speak in Angola for Africa Day 2009.

Luanda — A conference on the May 25, Africa's Day, will take place Friday in Luanda, under the Angolan Ministry of Culture (Mincult), Angop learned. The information reached Angop through a Mincult note.

According to the source, the event will discuss such topics as the epistemological imperatives of the African studies in the XXI century, the actual tendencies of the critical speech on African contemporary art and evolution of the African literary historiography within the context of the African studies.

Addressing the event will be African professors that lecture in American universities like Francis Abiola Irene (Harvard), Nkiru Nzegwu, head of department of African studies of the Binghamton University and Simon Gikandi, English teacher (Princeton University).

Alongside the conference, Angolan historian and arts critic, Adriano Mixinje, will release his book entitled "The evolution of the African literary historiography within the context of the African studies".

Similar conferences are taking place since May 25 in the provinces of Benguela, Huambo, Huíla and Cabinda, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture.
