What is Rastafari?

Rasta is the natural traditions
of the ancient one of creation;
Rasta is the guardian of the traditions,
natural man, natural mystic vibrations
black heart man of the hills
full of wisdom and gentleness!

What is Rasta?

Rasta is love, Rasta is natural living
right livity, true life everliving.
Rasta is oneness with the environment
because Rasta is earthical**,
artical* and mystical.

Rasta is a brotherhood of man
sisterhood of womanity,
coming from the dawn of time;
it is the bond of unconditional love
essential to any notion of community.

Rastafari is the blessed name of the King of Ethiopia
Crowned in 1930, his title is the king of kings,
Conquering lion of the tribe of Judah, the one,
revealed in the mystical book of Revelations,
Emperor Haile Selassie I.

Ras-ta-fari spells Ras
for Ra the ancient King of Ta-muria
who lives forever in the Sun;
Ta-fari spells Ta,
for Ptah, the old father of Ta-seti,
Zion, the land of the human lions;
And fari spells Fari, for the Feron,
the King of the two lands,
kings of the north and the south.

Rasta is white, black and brown
all playing and dancing around
like the beautiful flowers of the earthly gardens;

Rasta is good food, a good song, a living blessing,
Rasta is good thoughts, good talk, and good actions
Rastafari is the act of modulating
the cellular protoplasma,
and changing its frequency to positive vibrations.

  2. You know you’re a Rasta when…

    you can make a bong out of a coconut, apple, pineapple, or any other yummy fruit.
    when u scream “Jah” in every other sentence…
    when u got 20 different flavors of unsweetened tea, lol…
    when all ya clothes and hats have red, yellow, and green on them…
    when you dont feel the need to tell everyone that you’re a rasta ( so true )
    you know you are rasta when you see pamela anderson/parris hilton and ask for directions to babylon…
    …when you find yourself with mad dreadies, busking with a guitar outside the local shopping centre…with bare feet of course.
    you know youre a rasta, when you start letting ALL your hair knot up naturally.
    If your beardlocks inspire dread, you might be a rasta.
    You know you are a rasta when “e’ry ting’s irie”
    when u speak patois w/ an American accent
    You fly the flag of ethiopia on your front lawn when you live on da mainland.
    when all the catholics in the neighborhood have statues of saints in their yard and you have a statue ofe Haille Selassie in yours
    you go to a restaurant and ask for an ‘ital’ menu
    you have more Marley posters than pictures of family members
    Every time Dr. Phil comes on tv, you start a rant about Babylon
    You think Oprah’d look pretty sexy if she had some locks
    You’ve got more weed than George Clinton
    If you pull off your tam and the resulting dreadlock explosion knocks at least three people out, you might be a Rasta. (lol)
    If the smog inside your ride is more dank than the smog outside your ride, you might be a Rasta.
    when people in the community can come to you for advice or support
    when whole foods stores make you get giddy with anticipation
    when you refer to everyone as blesed fadda or holy empress and answer questions like “yes i”
    when you stop trying to be hard with the dreads and start saying “hi” to peole on the street.
    when you realize your god connection
    when you really like the smell of patchouli
    when you walk with the joyous bounce of freedom
    if the average american cant understand you, you might be a rasta.
    seriously tho, some marley interviews, i need to put the subtitles on

    LOL!!
