The objectives were to create a flexible space for showcasing the works of contemporary African and African Diasporan artists. Part of the challenge was to create design that gave a sense of light and translucency.

The design highlights are:

  • To bring vibrant atmosphere to the city by recreating existing space
  • To promote African and African Diaspora Art by fostering lively educational gallery
  • To create flexible gallery space for displaying art works and other social activities
  • To provide adequate storage space for both 2-D and 3-D art work
