Lamentations of Jeremiah Against Environmental Degradation – Jide Uwechia

Lamentations of Jeremiah

How long shall the land mourn
and the herbs of every field wither
for the wickedness of those that dwell thither;
the beasts are consumed…
and the birds… (Jeremiah 12:4)

For the mountains
will I take up a weeping and wailing;
and for the habitations of the wilderness
a lamentation;
because they are burned
so that nothing is left;

Neither the voices of the beast,
both the fowls of the heavens
and the fish
are fled…
they are gone… (Jeremiah 9:10)
