A friend / brother from South Africa argues that the word jew did not exist in Afrika.

I asked whether Bantu people form Afrika east to South Africa were indeed the original jews.

Can you help what do you think?

Using the very old.....chinese compass the "western" north is actually the south. so that would mean that the west is the east. When we apply the the chinese compass to the maps in the bible, what would the story be or how would this change the stories in the bible?

What would the bible say about peoples movements?

Dear Anu,

I think I remember you as writing the Multicultural column for The Urban Journal. My column was Mindsphere. I have looked for the paper on line and no longer see it. I am so glad to see you working so progressively in the field of World History. I am finding your article indespensible for my World History students. Thank you so much, Zunny

I enjoyed this article and found it quite impressive. It reminded me of the many lectures given by my oldest brother (that I was initially forced to sit through) as a little girl. My brother even assigned specific readings that made me aware of the "excellence in women" (i.e. Elizabeth: The Virgin Queen). My oldest brother, Johnnie, is now deceased but he will always be one of my heroes. Thank God for big brothers; He was such a genius...

I lacked the bibliographic citations listed here. Thank you. This article has greatly assisted me in my freelance writings. Yes, I will definitely give credit to this bibliography.

It is interesting that most of the scholars who were present refered to the egyptians as black and even said that they recieved there information from the egyptians i am surprised that historians deny any contribution of africans to world history. do you think that herodetus was lying or exagerating his writings ? if so then a lot of our references to ancient history based on his books must be re evaluated

An interesting point that this article brings up is that the majority of civilizations throughout history were established by what we think of today as black people. Therefore, the distinction between black and African is very significant and is often overlooked.

This article clearly shows that with integration, Africa is a part of us all. Whether it's roots tied to our families or country in general I feel it is important to understand history and how it has affected today's society.

This article like the others that I have read is very intriguing. Like most people I am not aware of these facts and really why would I be? They don't teach us this stuff in grade school for the simple fact that history has been primarily written by White men. At the same this article shouldn't be taken as the absolute truth either. As I stated in another comment, you have to conduct your own research because you won't learn about this stuff from school.

I'm a little skeptical after reading this. Africa is so large, worldly interaction in ancient times is assumed. But the author seems to be making general, sweeping statements about the anthro histories of ancient nations.
