Barak obama is just a politician. I think you will find interesting parallels between him and Roman emporer Septimius Severus. Look it up. He is not a prophet, but his candidacy is a sign. This election is a huge choice for America. He is not America's saviour, but he will buy America some time. You can oppose Obama because he can buy Babylon some time, but it seems like Rasman's urge for us to see Selassie as greater than Barack is a secret compliment to Barack.

Greetings,

I'm a bit confused with this statement. "“I suggest we all listen to this voice instead of looking to politicians to solve or advance our cause.”

Isn't Baraka Obama a politician? Does he not also "politic" on issue's? Does he not use tactics and manipulation to get into his desired position?

Are you sure you are referring to Jahdey a commited Baraka follower or you are responding to Rasman who criticized Obama? Sorry bro, but go and re-read the posts before making silly remarks. I trust you can read and write...

A Reply to Jahdey:
I find it a bit shocking that in 609 words & 3234 characters you could not make a single meaningful point, yet you have the audacity to question an intellectual whose performance, intellect and prepositions you seem not to understand. Sorry brother!

Nyaze;
Nice points. Only one clarification. I didn't mean he shouldn't rebuke his pastor becuase he should have long ago. Because in my mind all forms of racism are counter productive whether white, black or other. What I wanted to come across was that if he stood firm with him it would have shown more fortitude and principle albeit dead wrong. But you hit the home run with your remark, "I suggest we all listen to this voice instead of looking to politicians to solve or advance our cause." That is the solid truth.

Honorable bredren... skepticism of power is always smart on the part of the common folk. Barack is not a god or a prophet, he is only a human being limited by his own overstanding and weaknesses. We must each make a personal choice whether to support or not support his agenda, however is it not irresponsible to merely blast a man without providing evidence for his wrongdoing? If his only sin is rebuking some of the things his minister said, then I have no problem with that. InI mind is not the playground for any public speaker, no matter how persuasive. What is right speaks to me in a quiet voice within. I suggest we all listen to this voice instead of looking to politicians to solve or advance our cause.

Jahdey;
Thank you man but I still have to cast a sceptical eye on Baraka. Because I have studied him and his views. I would just ask you to think about where this man is on any of these issues as stated by the Church of H.I,M.
http://ninesaintsethiopianorthodoxmonastery.org/id33.html
Barak cannot even be true to the racist misgided faith he choose. I would at least have respect for that if I had been true to it for 20 years. In my view, this man also espouses the communist mind set which H.IM essentailly gave his life to defeat. I don't see anything in what this man has to say that is consistnet with the true beliefs of His Majesty. Please explain to me how you can see the principles of H.I.M. in this man. I just see a self-serving rich politican who takes the opportunistic positions of race. I don't believe for one second that is what His Majesty was about. All I'm saying is that the views of His Majesty are implicitly benign and good and true for all men. I know the words of H.I.M, and Baraka is no H.I.M. He is just another lying hypocritical crook from Chicago. Baraka never had one slave in his family but his mother's family did. They owned them though. I see it as wrong and oportunistic for Baraka to call himself an "African American". I am of African descent and Indian and West Asian Slave descent but I would never presume to call myself "African American". That is not my right by history nor is it Baraka's right. Ok Jahdey honestly, I just don't trust this guy because I have a lot of bad information about him and I see homw many opportunistic moves he has made. That is just my opinion, it has nothing to do with if you are my friend or not. I'm glad to be able to express my honest opinon to you and get feedback from you as a friend. That's the essence of Rastafarianism right? I really hope for thesake of all the free world that you are right and I am wrong.

Sorry Rasman but you got it wrong on Baraka.

Baraka may be a politician but he is a symbol of the Aquarian age.

Just search out more information about him, because besides your general vague anti-pathy to Baraka, you have not pointed out one fact that should warrant such dis-affection.

Some liberal guys like to be on the part of Black people when they are down but once Africans at home and in diaspora begin to stand and speak on their own terms, those liberals feel even more threatened than the right wing nuts.

But yes, Baraka is for every tribe and nation, every race and colour, every shade of opinion or afiliation. Africa, Asia, Europe come together in one powerful expression of political acuity. Study him patiently, then you will realize that the prophets of today, live and work among us like those of yesteryears.

"Noah had three sons Ham, Shem,, and Japhet... And in Ham it was said will be the prophets. Glory to Jah, the prophets have come, througout the ages." -- Bob Marley in Give thanks and praises. Check the Bible and read up Genesis with a discerning eye.

Jahdey;
I'm sorry my friend to shock you but: I say these things about Barak because they are the truth. They are hard words for me to say because, I very well understand the false hope that hides behind these empty promises. But they are empty promises and the deciever is hiding in plain sight behind a very thin veil of black pride and white guilt. I don't want to go much further than this because, I respect that some brothers and sisters of all colors idolize this man. But I would respectfully ask you to honestly look at who is behind this man and what he really stands for. I hope that people will truely see of their own vision that this man is only about himself. He will throw his own minister of 20 years under the train to serve his ultr-rich patrons. I have to honestly say I have absolutely no respect at all for this man, none whatsoever. He is not an honorable man. A man without honor is not a man in my opinion. I'm sorry but in my native culture, honor is everything. Imagine if someone asked his Majesty if having an Islamic grandmother would disqualify you as the Lion of Judha and the savior of true christianity? Do you think His Majesty would have lied and thrown his grandmother under the train? Of course not because it is the the truth, The Lion knew the truth speaks for itself. Not lies brought to clarity by repetition of the respoken untruth. Peole follow the word word because it is true and right, honorable and just. That is the difference between honor and disgrace. Baraka's honor is only to himself. He does not honor Ius, he does not honor Jah, he honors only his own profund misunderstanding and confusion about money and his race and the race of people he can take advantage of. No white man , no black man, no red or yellow man should confuse a black looking face for a true and noble heart in my opinion. His Majesty had a true and noble heart among men. I know and respect the words of His Majesty. Although I'm "red path" doesn't mean I don't understand and respect my African (Ethiopian) heritage. I do very much so. So, my brother, I'm sorry if these words of mine are hard to swallow or are a disappointment to you in some way but there are "real African Americans" who take deep exception to confused and biased message that this man Obama sends. By the way, I am a descendent of slaves as well as a descendent of slave owners. I'm not proud nor ashamed of this. It is history and it is something to move away from not toward. Redmen and blackmen and Allmen need to walk forward to toward the noble and honorable goals of His Majesty not backward to the divisions of the dark ages. I'm deeply concedned that's where Barak takes us.
So Jahdey my brother, I don't want to go into the specific issues with Barak but I ask every intelligent person to look into what he really stands for. I can tell you it is not the ever true loving principles of H.I.M. I will expound if necessary.
Jahdey, I'm very sorry if you disagree with me on this but if we ever reach the goals of H.I.M we can't do that by judging a man on his color but only truely on his merit and thehonorability of his character. I have truthfully shown you my character here brother. Finding the real truth about Barak is up to you.
