Raffaele Bendandi predicted May 11 mega earthquake in Rome

Thousands of local residents are fleeing Rome, afraid of an earthquake prediction made by a seismologist who’s been dead for years.

For months, Italian websites have been abuzz with discussions of the forecast made by Raffaele Bendandi, who claimed to have predicted many an earthquake and had predicted that Rome would be hit with “The Big One” on May 11, 2011.

The national TV network has run spots aimed at calming residents and assuring them that earthquakes can’t be predicted, but residents aren’t buying it….
