The Voodoo
Voodoo is the most pervasive and the most ancient of all of Africa’s spirituality. It has remained the roots of African philosophy since the days of ancient Egypt to the present day. Voodoo is an international philosophy having been spread from Africa to Asia to Europe, Australia, North America, and South America.

The Kushites and the Gods:
Diodorus Siculus a Greek historian of the classical ages devoted an entire chapter of his Magnus opus on world history, the Bibliotheke Historica, or Library of History (Book 3), to the Kushites [“Aithiopians”] of Meroe. Therein he repeats the story of their great piety, their high favor with the gods, and the fact that they were the first of all men created by the gods and were the founders of Egyptian civilization, invented writing, and given the Egyptians their religion and culture. (3.3.2). Concerning the Kushites, Diodorus stated:

Those same Anus were the first builders of ancient Egypt and were the progenitors of the most famous and ancient of the Egyptians like Isis, Osiris, Imhotep , etc.

Hymn to the Aten
Your dawning is beautiful in the horizon of heaven,
O living Aten, creator of life!
When you set in the western horizon,
Earth falls into a deathly darkness.
People sleep in chambers, heads covered,
oblivious of the world,
the possessions in their head stolen.
Every lion comes forth from its den,

as their maker rests in heavens.

The Fomorians
There are many oblique references to the presence of Black people in ancient Ireland. Ancient Irish mythology refers to the original inhabitants of the island as being a giant, sea-faring people called the Fomorians (Fomors), which means “dark of the sea”. According to the ancient lore, they were a cushitic people from the African continent. Often depicted as demons, they defeated the first few incoming waves of invaders, but could not defeat the Firbolgs, who settled the land and lived side-by-side with the native Fomors.
