General Guidelines and Rights:

Thank you for deciding to submit your materials to be considered for publication on AfricaResource.com. All submitted materials that is accepted and published will become the property of AfricaResource.com. By submitting your materials, you agree to this requirement. You will still retain the rights to your work.

Theme:

All materials submitted to AfricaResource.com must have some element or a central focus on Africa. Though exceptions can be made but only with a written justification. The focus of writings on AfricaResource.com will have to deal with Africa or the African Diaspora. This can be achieved in many ways as there is no restriction on topic. To submit your poetry, short stories, essays, autobiographies or to write for AfricaResource.com, please follow the guidelines below.

All submissions can now be done using our online submission system. You will need to become a registered members. Registration is free. Once your material is submitted, it will be reviewed.

Poetry:

If you are interested in submitting your poems to AfricaResource.com, please make sure you have fulfilled all the criteria below:

  • Biography (example of biographies)
  • A picture of yourself
  • 5 of your best poems (you may submit more)

Feature Writing:

If you are interested in writing regularly for AfricaResource.com as a columnist or a contributor, email the Editor explaining what you are interested in writing about and if it is a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. Below are the general criteria for feature writing:

  • Biography
  • Your Picture
  • Feature Writing

Essays:

If you are interested in publishing your academic essays, opinions, or response to issues related to Africa and the Diaspora on AfricaResource.com, send the paper to the Editor with all the required criteria:

  • Biography
  • Essay

Short Stories:

If you are interested in publishing your short story on AfricaResource.com, send the summary of the story to the Editor including:

  • Biography
  • Your Picture
  • Short Story

Autobiographies:

If you are interested in documenting your life story and publishing it on AfricaResource.com, send your autobiography to the Editor including:

  • Biography
  • Your Picture
  • Autobiography
  • Visuals (if required)

Oral Narratives:

If you are interested in documenting historical or personal account, or if you have field materials you want to publish on AfricaResource.com, contact the Editor. In the email, include a brief description of your story. Digital audio recording and photographs will be accepted. If you have questions as to how to record and send your digital recording and photographs, please contact the Editor for help. Below are the general criteria for oral narratives submission:
