We are proud to introduce the collections of the famed House of Agano in Kenya by designer Patricia Lulu Mbela. Lulu Mbela ranks as one of Africa's top fashion and jewelry designers. Reviewers were taken by Mbela's professionalism, her particular treatment of contemporary styles, and her use of regional palette, patterns and motifs in creating memorable designs. The fashion show will feature a collection of 60 dresses and jewelry.

Jazz dinner with noted performers, flautist Donna Wood, and pianist Gene Cothran, and a Kwanzaa presentation by Patricia McHerrin on December 12, 2008, 7 to 9 pm. Dinner is Moi Moi, lamb, organic salad, purée squash and carrot soup, served with South African wine, Ethiopian coffee and dessert. Reserve a seat online or by phone. This will be our last event of the year. Join us for a lovely evening of jazz and conversation at Africa House.

A night of acoustic soul music and dinner with Lemuel, an up and coming musician. The event will be on November 14, 2008 from 7-9pm. Dinner is Joloff rice, chicken and vegetables, served with South African wine, Ethiopian coffee and dessert.

The opening reception for Philippe Dodard: Spirits of the Caribbean Exhibition at Akego and Sahara gallery will be on October 18, 2008 at 4pm. The roundtable discussion on Haitian art will be on October 19, 2008 at 11am. Both events will be at Africa House.
