Purple Rain

Good friends that were made
when life was fun
and the young ruled the world
are now scattered across the globe
as mother's arms grow weak and worn.
Alcohol mixed with Advil
worked wonders till the party stopped.
Darling pals became ink in pens
without ever leaving the hands of mailmen.
Ribbons and hats make pretty
the skin covered with spots and secrets,
as riches and gold
do not make happy
the soul that died with the sun. |
