Oje Mba Enwe Ilo Print
The nostalgic smell of burnt wood
overlaps in my bag
full of haunting memories.
Ihembosi and Ihiala are the backbones
of a life begun in solitude.
With cornbeef and African vegetable salad
remaining the connection
between them and one
deeply rooted in their tradition.
With regards to Ojemba
and beloved Uncle now departed,
I trace my heritage back
to the forerunners of the word,
to the race that God protected.
