We walk around
in a daze
with half hearts.
Having given out the other
half of our hearts
to people.
Strangers.
We don't even know their names.
And we walk around
shedding tears we created
in our hopeless minds.
Ours dreams having
no reality.
Our future having
no ever after.
And we walk around
with the hearts cut in half
looking for the roots
we came from.
Searching for the strength
from friendly pats on our stooped backs
to lead us on to eternity. |
