Another Evil Device
|
 |
|
Cold relief flooded over a black reality
As I awoke from a slumber of white insanity
Four hundred years of pain and brutality
Unchained from the fetters of man’s inhumanity
I unwiped the bitter tears of a dark history
To salvage my dehumanized dignity
But alas!
The dream was but a mirage
The freedom a lie
For the chains from our ankles
Are embedded deep in our pockets
Crumbs they bait as aid
While draining our rich brains
Cunningly setting our wages
Selling the smiles off our faces
With another evil device of savagery
Sending us into a second round of slavery. |
