Old Age Print
OLD AGE

Her need
her children's children
spread across continent
raising their children
without guideful eyes of mama
without hot pepper soup for colds
or playing swell on red dirt
scraping knees
trying to land
on number four when feet can only reach number two
laughing with other girls with blue khaki uniform
running from the hand that strikes
and drinking Ovaltine until fresh bread is out
eating okra and knowing the similarity of your own kind
