Unigwe C. Emmanuel is a fast rising creative writer, poet, singer-songwriter, and stand –up comedian. He hails from Okija in Ihiala local government area of Anambra, but lives in Lagos. The 30 year old prolific wordsmith is a multiple winner of the ALIVE 2000 / 2001 song contest organized by the united states Agency for international development (USAID) and family health international (FHI Nigeria). He also won the DTD / NESCAFE poetry prize in the year 2002. Among his works are Golden words of wisdom (Published) a collection of indigenous African proverbs and wise sayings. Other unpublished works are the Aburi Encounter (short story), trials and triumphs of great men (motivational), Jemimah the bitter and the sweet (prose), dreams don’t always die (a play), and point of no return (short story). He is the financial secretary of the Association of Nigerian Authors (Lagos state chapter) and works as a facilitator for a Nigerian-based NGO. |
